《启初的起初》是以江西省萍乡市的真实人物“胡启初”为原型进行艺术加工的文艺片。胡启初是萍乡市芦溪县“杜鹃花小屋“的创始人，因患有"先天性心脏病”、“类风湿心脏病”等多种疾病导致瘫痪，全身仅有一只左手能够活动。生活的磨难曾让他几度想自杀，是文学点燃了他对生存的渴望。他与现实的矛盾，与家人的矛盾，最后都归结于他与内心的矛盾。世上只有一种真正的英雄主义，那就是认清生活的真相之后还热爱生活。。Centers on the Kilcher family and their community outside Homer, Alaska. Led by patriarch Atz Kilcher, singer Jewel's father, the family have lived on their land for three generations. The show also focuses on the homesteaders who live by the Kilchers, including, Brother Roadkill, who eats animals lying dead on the side of the road.。
