Plebs follows three desperate young men from the suburbs...。五名身手不凡，年轻卖命的龙虎武师，生活在危险边缘，以性命作为赌注。 洪桥、洪镇、洪伟、洪英和洪亮，五师兄弟妹自幼跟随师父学习京剧，手足情深。当时﹝六十年代末期﹞武侠片大行其道，他们趁时加入影圈当龙虎武师和替身，但早期的发展并不如理想，伟更因拍片意外受伤，断了一腿。 后因缘际会，镇被选中为男主角，与当红女星叶媚合作，名噪一时，而桥却委屈为镇替身。桥郁郁不欢，幸英从旁开解，两人感情一日千里。 镇本可藉此机会扶摇直上，惜他整日花天酒地，终因债务缠身，迫得往澳门暂避。片商无奈只有中途易角。媚趁时向桥表示有能力为他争取补上，不过，以相好为交换条件。桥闻言不禁心动，后终不忍辜负英的爱意，唯有拒绝。然天意弄人，桥忽接镇急电，谓因债务而被禁锢，求桥代为筹钱赎身。桥彷徨无计，找媚商量，媚重提旧事，桥情急下，与媚发生关系。 镇逃走心切，出手伤人，被控。桥亦无能为力。未几...。
