本片描述出身贫寒的南部地主身患重病不久于世，他的两个性格相反的儿子布雷克和古柏带着媳妇参加他六十五岁的生日聚会。古柏是一位律师并管理大笔产业；弟弟布雷克却因为自己误会老友致使他自杀身亡，并怪其妻与挚友有染，不与其同房，成为大嫂的笑柄并无法接管产业。其实布雷克也不想继承产业，因为他觉得世上一切都很虚伪，但经过贤妻玛姬的激励以及伯父的开导，他才开始了解生活的意义，因而全家最终各得其所。。四个各有抱负，各有希望的旧街坊　──　宝家成（吕方饰）、李想（吕颂贤饰）、张美真（宣萱饰）及叶绮梦（梅小惠饰），因十八年前的一个约定，在人生中的绝境里重遇，并合力开办了一间名叫「快更妥」公司，目的是为帮助他人达成心中梦想，然而对于自己的那摇不可及的梦想却……。The story revolves around a G8 meeting, held at a luxury hotel on the German coast, where the world’s most powerful economists are gathered to enact important provisions that will deeply influence the world economy.
