高大挺拔的李国生（张嘉译饰）是一名优秀的空军机械师，拥有如此令人欣羡身份的他却独独爱上了许婷（左小青饰）。许婷的父母因被怀疑为特务而下放五七干校，国生不顾他人眼光坚决要和许婷结为夫妇，为此不惜从空军转业。无奈迫于社会和家庭的压力，两个有情之人生离死别。委屈在人生的谷底，国生迎来了生命中第二个女人马添（朱锐饰）。在社会现实和命运的安排下，两人结为夫妇。婚后生活波澜不惊，也许一切步入正轨，直到某天本应死去的许婷再度出现。平静的水面再起波澜。 每个时代都有这样那样令人唏嘘的故事，李国生的人生并非唯一……。The story follows a young Indigenous game warden who arrests an infamous poacher only to discover that the poacher knows the location of a plane carrying millions of dollars that has crashed in a frozen lake.
